Aces Radio - Fireside Aces Radio

Having a live radio station provides students with a unique platform to develop essential skills in communication, teamwork, and media production. It fosters an environment of active academics, where students can engage in real-time discussions, share their perspectives, and connect with their peers and the community. Operating a live station also encourages creativity and critical thinking as students curate content and navigate the technical aspects of broadcasting. Ultimately, this hands-on experience cultivates extraordinary experiences that empower students to express themselves confidently and prepare for future careers in various media fields.

The Monday Nerve: Mondays 11:00am-1:30pm

The Monday Nerve is hosted by Beverley Buchanan, senior at UE, every Monday from 11am-1:30pm. This show is centered around the band Nirvana, their personal music inspirations from the 70s-90s, and current music that came after them- inspired and molded by their sound.

PRIDE: Tuesdays 4:00pm-5:00pm

PRIDE is a live radio show hosted by Andrea Lenser, who is the director of Fireside Aces Radio. This show airs every Tuesday from 4-5 PM and features music from artists who are in the LGBTQ+ community.

Randomly Related: Wednesdays 4:00pm-5:30pm

Randomly Related was created by Andrea Lenser, who is the director of Fireside Aces Radio. This show airs every Wednesday from 4-5:30 PM and features specialized playlists of songs that are all loosely connected by a theme, such as songs that all have the word “blue” in the title.

The Friday Nerve: Fridays 11:00am-2:00pm

The Friday Nerve is also hosted by Bev, every Friday from 11am-2pm. Since Kurt Cobain was an all-around feminist, this show is reserved for the exploration of all female punk, folk, independent, and alternative rock from the 70s to today. Note: Please don’t listen to this show if you are racist, sexist, or homophobic… we don’t need your business.

Musical Madness: Saturdays 12:00pm-2:00pm

Musical Madness was created by Andrea Lenser, who is the director of Fireside Aces Radio. This show airs every Saturday from 12-2 PM and features songs from stage and movie musicals alike. Some of the shows and movies included are Hamilton, Beetlejuice, Dear Evan Hansen, Six, Tick Tick Boom, In the Heights, and many more!

Royalty On The Radio: Sundays 12:00pm-1:00pm

Royalty on the Radio was created by Andrea Lenser, who is the director of Fireside Aces Radio. This show airs every Sunday from 12-2 PM and features artists and bands with royal names, such as Queen, Prince, “The King” Elvis Presley, “The King of Pop” Michael Jackson, and many more!
